Islamabad: Pakistan and Belarus have signed multiple protocols and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, aiming to strengthen and expand their partnership across various sectors. The session, held in Islamabad from August 11 to 12, was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, and Belarus’s Minister of Energy, Dzianis Maroz.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting marked a significant step in enhancing bilateral ties, rooted in mutual trust and shared interests. Both ministers underscored the importance of the Joint Ministerial Commission as a platform to explore new growth avenues and market diversification, while addressing trade-related issues through a newly established Joint Working Group on Trade.

The session also concluded with the signing of an MoU between the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus and Pakistan Television Corporation, aimed at fostering cooperation in broadcasting. Additionally, both nations emphasized advancing cooperation in industrial sectors, agriculture, and science and technology, including proposals for technology transfer, agricultural trade, and mutual recognition of standards to facilitate bilateral commerce.
