Lahore Workshop Focuses on Human Rights Information System Revival

Lahore: A two-day workshop aimed at reviving the Human Rights Information Management System (HRIMS) took place in Lahore, organized by the Ministry of Human Rights in collaboration with the European Union in Pakistan under the EU Huqooq-e-Pakistan II Project and UNDP Pakistan. Attended by provincial staff and focal persons, the event concentrated on the technical and administrative aspects necessary for the system’s operation, including equipment installation and data management training.

According to Ministry of Human Rights, the workshop provided a platform for the orientation of Provincial Treaty Implementation Cell staff and the capacity building of provincial line departments. Participants received training on indicator-based reporting, data entry, quality assurance, user management, and reporting procedures. Mr. Arfan Shabbir, Deputy Director of Human Rights at the Ministry, underscored the system’s role in enhancing data collection and management for human rights obligations. He noted that HRIMS would aid in the timely submission of accurate data and improve coordination between federal and provincial institutions for both national and international reporting commitments.
