Finance Minister Urges Increased Investment in Pakistan’s Poultry Industry


Lahore: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has called for heightened investment and the adoption of modern technology to bolster Pakistan’s poultry sector, aiming to drive agricultural growth and expand export opportunities.



According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb made these remarks while addressing the International Poultry Exhibition at the Expo Centre in Lahore. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment for investors in the sector.



During his address, Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s significant standing as the 11th largest global producer of poultry, with an annual output of approximately 2.5 billion kilogrammes of meat and 28 million eggs. Despite this substantial production, he noted that the country’s poultry exports remain modest, totaling only 4 million dollars. He argued that increased investment and technological advancements are crucial to improving productivity and enhancing the sector’s export potential.
