ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belarus have reaffirmed their commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors during the ninth session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Belarusian Minister for Energy Dzenis Maroz expressed satisfaction over the discussions, which were aimed at expanding collaboration in trade, industry, agriculture, banking, labor, transport, and energy.

According to Radio Pakistan, both countries reviewed the entire spectrum of their bilateral cooperation during the commission meeting. The talks were described as productive, with both sides confident that the outcomes will lead to tangible benefits and further strengthen the partnership between the two nations.

Prime Minister Sharif extended a warm welcome to Minister Maroz and his delegation, conveying his regards to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. He reminisced about President Lukashenko’s visit to Islamabad in November 2024, as well as his own visit to Belarus in April 2025, which he noted had fortified bilateral relations.

Minister Maroz, on his part, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from the Belarusian leadership. He also provided an update on the progress achieved during the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting, emphasizing the shared commitment to deepen coordination and materialize cooperation across the agreed sectors.
