Finance Minister Aurangzeb Pledges to Enhance Sovereign Ratings Drivers


ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has pledged to enhance both the quantitative and qualitative drivers of Pakistan’s sovereign ratings during a meeting with a World Bank delegation. He emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the country’s credit standing through deeper engagement with stakeholders.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting with the World Bank delegation, led by Country Director Ms. Bolormaa Amgaabazar, included a review of the National Tariff Policy and ongoing support for tariff reforms. Discussions focused on the automotive sector and future reforms to bolster competitiveness, productivity, investment, exports, and Pakistan’s integration into global value chains.



Both parties expressed their commitment to continued cooperation under the economic reform partnership. The focus remains on implementation, institutional strengthening, private-sector-led growth, improved public-resource management, stronger investment, and enhanced economic opportunities.
