Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has emphasized the critical role of education in Pakistan’s progress, highlighting the necessity for well-prepared teachers to underpin the nation’s development. He underscored that the country’s advancement hinges on equipping the younger generation with quality education and enhancing their problem-solving abilities.
According to Press Information Department, Iqbal made these remarks during a visit to the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE), where he was updated on the institute’s ongoing programs and teacher training initiatives. He reflected on past educational projects aimed at reforming curriculum and teacher training, expressing satisfaction with NIETE’s development as an institution. Iqbal stressed that improving teacher quality is essential for advancing education and fostering creativity and critical thinking among students. He outlined his vision for a leading teacher training institute in South Asia, aspiring to set a global benchmark for excellence in education.
