RAWALPINDI: H.E. Mr. Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, the Foreign Minister of Syria, met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. Discussions focused on mutual interests, the regional security environment, and potential avenues for enhanced bilateral defense and security cooperation.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the meeting highlighted the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Syria. The Pakistani army chief shared Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and collaborative efforts to address common security challenges. Mr. Al-Shaibani appreciated the role played by the Armed Forces of Pakistan in promoting regional peace and stability. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding engagements in defense and security.
