Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with his Malaysian counterpart, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, focusing on regional developments and the enhancement of bilateral relations.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussion between the two leaders included inquiries about Dr. Anwar Ibrahim’s health, with Prime Minister Sharif wishing him a swift recovery. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current trajectory of cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia, emphasizing a commitment to further strengthening trade and investment ties.
The conversation also addressed regional developments, particularly in the Gulf, with Dr. Anwar Ibrahim acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts toward regional peace. He expressed gratitude for the leadership roles of Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in advancing these efforts. Prime Minister Sharif conveyed appreciation for Malaysia’s consistent support and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with friendly countries like Malaysia to promote peace in the Middle East.
The leaders agreed to meet at a mutually convenient time and Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to Dr. Anwar Ibrahim for an official visit to Pakistan.
