Supreme Court’s Medical Order for PTI Founder Fully Implemented, Says Tarar

Islamabad: The administration has fully complied with the Supreme Court’s directive regarding the medical examination of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, as confirmed by Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar. The minister stated that the medical checkup was conducted with the founder’s sister present, fulfilling all necessary requirements.

According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar addressed a news conference emphasizing the government’s adherence to the court’s order and transparency in informing the public. He accused the PTI of spreading misinformation about the health of its founder and urged the party to avoid politicizing medical and legal issues.

Tarar highlighted past statements made by the PTI founder about others’ health during his time in office and raised questions in a review petition about the equitable treatment of prisoners. He criticized the gathering of individuals outside Shifa International Hospital, which he claimed politicized the issue and created security concerns despite court directives against such activities.

The minister stressed that medical and legal matters should be handled independently and reiterated that doctors should evaluate the PTI founder’s health condition. He assured that the government had not obstructed medical treatment and would continue to provide necessary care. Tarar also acknowledged the Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council for distancing themselves from political statements made by certain members, emphasizing that bar councils should remain apolitical.
