Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, extended his felicitations to the nation on the observance of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, reaffirming the need for national unity and the supremacy of the Constitution. According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Sadiq highlighted the day as an opportunity to express gratitude for freedom, honor the sacrifices made for the country’s creation, and renew commitments to national development.

Addressing the nation, Sadiq emphasized that Pakistan’s creation was the result of relentless struggle and sacrifices. He called for placing national interests above personal and political differences, underscoring the importance of unity, tolerance, and democratic continuity for sustainable prosperity. He praised the armed forces and law enforcement for their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s security and sovereignty.

Sadiq also acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace and diplomacy, highlighting recent efforts in regional tensions and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. He stressed the importance of mutual trust and cooperation among Islamic countries for regional stability.

The Speaker paid tribute to the role of women in the Pakistan Movement and emphasized the importance of youth empowerment through education and technology. He urged adherence to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for a strong and democratic Pakistan and expressed solidarity with the struggles of Kashmiri and Palestinian peoples for self-determination.

Sadiq concluded with a call to prioritize national interests, uphold the Constitution, and work collectively towards a prosperous future for Pakistan, invoking blessings for the nation’s peace and stability.
