ISLAMABAD: The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, met with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, where they discussed regional developments and mutual interests. The meeting also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to assisting in the repatriation of a Chinese mountaineer who tragically died following an avalanche at Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed condolences over the incident and assured Ambassador Jiang of Pakistan’s full support in facilitating the repatriation process. Ambassador Jiang acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s swift assistance in the aftermath of the event.
During the meeting, Ambassador Jiang also congratulated the people and leadership of Pakistan on their Independence Day, reiterating the enduring and strong ties between China and Pakistan. The exchange underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration and dialogue between the two nations.
