Islamabad: A two-day ‘International Conference on Inclusive and Resilient Economic Empowerment and Growth’ is set to take place in Islamabad on October 13-14, as announced by Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah. The event aims to gather participants from 12 countries to discuss sustainable solutions for poverty and promote inclusive economic growth.
According to Press Information Department, the conference aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Uraan Pakistan” vision, focusing on public welfare and economic development for disadvantaged communities. The event, organized by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) in collaboration with various institutions, coincides with the upcoming United Nations’ International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17.
PPAF CEO Nadir Gul Barech emphasized the need for an integrated approach to poverty alleviation, highlighting the organization’s initiatives that have facilitated millions of interest-free loans and created thousands of jobs. The conference will serve as a platform to share insights and strengthen collaboration among public institutions, development partners, and local communities.
