Islamabad: A high-level joint meeting was held today, co-chaired by the Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and the Federal Minister of Energy (Power Division), Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, to review the progress of the CAREC Tranche-3 project, which focuses on enhancing connectivity between Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Dera Ismail Khan.

According to Press Information Department, the joint session was convened at the specific request of the Federal Minister for Power Division. The meeting focused on the progress of all four lots of the project and included a briefing by the Chairman of the National Highway Authority on the implementation status.

The session also covered discussions on the Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plan, addressing land acquisition, resettlement of affected individuals, and compliance with the Asian Development Bank’s requirements. The emphasis was placed on resolving outstanding issues and ensuring the project’s timely completion.

Federal Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari highlighted the necessity to accelerate project progress and effectively address implementation-related matters. He called for coordinated efforts to resolve ongoing issues.

The meeting was attended by Members of the National Assembly, including Sardar Ammar Ahmad Khan Leghari, Sardar Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Dreshak, and Sardar Shamsher Ali Mazari, as well as Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry and other officials.
