ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Mr. Imran Nadeem Shigri, held a meeting with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani at the Parliament House to discuss the current political climate, regional developments, and challenges confronting the newly elected Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.
According to Senate of Pakistan, Chairman Gilani congratulated Mr. Shigri on his election as Speaker and extended his best wishes to all newly elected members of the Assembly. He emphasized the trust the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have placed in the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and reinforced the party’s commitment to public service and democratic values.
Mr. Gilani assured that every effort would be made to support the development and welfare of the Gilgit-Baltistan region. He highlighted the Senate’s role in fostering coordination and cooperation among federating units and reiterated its commitment to addressing the issues faced by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Speaker Shigri informed the Chairman about the key challenges facing the region. In response, Mr. Gilani pledged comprehensive cooperation to tackle these challenges and enhance the region’s development and residents’ well-being.
