Lahore, The Punjab Police, under the direction of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has intensified its crackdown against fugitives and proclaimed offenders residing abroad. In a recent operation, the special squad of the Punjab Police arrested a wanted fugitive in Muscat involved in a multi-crore rupee fraud. The fugitive, Muhammad Nasir, had fled Pakistan after defrauding several citizens. His arrest was facilitated through a Red Notice issued by Interpol, with the accused being transferred from Muscat to Pakistan earlier today.
According to Punjab Police, this operation is part of a continuous effort to apprehend fugitives abroad. The arrest of Muhammad Nasir marks the 135th proclaimed offender apprehended from foreign countries this year, with arrests made in America, Europe, Africa, and Gulf countries. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the Special Operation Cell team for apprehending this dangerous fugitive. He emphasized the importance of completing the legal process swiftly to ensure the criminal is duly punished and directed to intensify the crackdown on dangerous proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, advocating regular information sharing with FIA, Interpol, and other security agencies.
