Islamabad Police Arrest Two in Motorcycle Snatching Crackdown


ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat street crime, Islamabad Police have apprehended two individuals implicated in a series of motorcycle snatching incidents, marking a significant step in their ongoing crackdown on such offenses.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, a dedicated team from the Bani Gala police station employed advanced technology and human intelligence to detain the suspects, who are linked to multiple motorcycle snatching and robbery cases. During the operation, authorities recovered two stolen motorcycles, a weapon used in the crimes, and ammunition. The suspects were already wanted for several other criminal activities.



Initial investigations revealed confessions from the detainees regarding their involvement in numerous robbery and motorcycle thefts. The investigation is ongoing, as police aim to uncover further details about the gang’s operations.



Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, highlighted the police’s commitment to clamping down on motorcycle theft and related crimes, noting a marked decrease in such activities within the federal capital. He has instructed police officers to persist in their efforts to apprehend criminal elements and ensure their prosecution.



The police have urged the public to assist in these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest police station or via the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline.
