Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Malaysia Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Peace Efforts


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone discussion with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional peace efforts.



According to Press Information Department, the conversation between the two leaders touched upon the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia, with both expressing satisfaction over the current trajectory of their bilateral relationship. They emphasized the need to enhance trade and investment ties, thereby continuing the positive momentum of their collaboration.



The discussion also included regional developments, particularly in the Gulf region. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership roles. Prime Minister Sharif, in turn, thanked Malaysia for its consistent support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to work with friendly nations, including Malaysia, to advance peace in the Middle East.



The conversation concluded with both leaders agreeing to meet at a mutually convenient time in the future, with Prime Minister Sharif extending an invitation to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for an official visit to Pakistan.
