Islamabad: The Ministry of Energy’s Power Division has launched Pakistan’s first National Power Sector Innovation Programme. This initiative aims to identify and support innovative ideas to enhance the country’s power sector. The programme’s digital platform, the Innovation Hub, will serve as a conduit for young Pakistanis to submit their ideas and solutions.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari emphasized that the programme is not just a competition but an institutional framework for the power sector. Over the next three years, more than one billion rupees will be allocated for mentorship, technical assistance, and the implementation of successful innovations. Participants, including students and startups, are encouraged to submit their ideas through the Innovation Hub to help address the challenges facing the power sector.

The programme is designed to transform innovative concepts into scalable solutions, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable power sector. It provides a pathway for ideas to advance from research to national-scale deployment, offering mentorship and technical support to promising innovators.
