Pakistan Embassy in Ankara Celebrates 79th Independence Anniversary with Grand Ceremony


Ankara: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Ankara marked the 79th Independence anniversary of Pakistan with a grand reception at Pakistan House on the evening of August 13, 2026. The event, attended by senior Turkish officials and members of the diplomatic corps, was highlighted by the presence of H.E. Cevdet Yilmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, as the Chief Guest.



According to the Press Information Department, the ceremony included notable attendees such as H.E. Yasar Güler, Minister of National Defence of Türkiye, and General Selçuk Bayraktaroglu, Chief of the General Staff, among others. The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and national anthems of Pakistan and Türkiye. Students from the Pakistan Embassy International Study Group School performed cultural presentations, and guests viewed a documentary on Pakistan’s history and achievements.



H.E. Dr. Yousaf Junaid, Ambassador of Pakistan to Türkiye, addressed the gathering, paying tribute to Pakistan’s founding leaders and emphasizing the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Türkiye. Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz delivered a keynote address, extending greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan.



The evening concluded with a reception featuring traditional Pakistani cuisine, and a photo exhibition commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, further celebrating the enduring bond between the two nations.
