Maritime Minister Urges Unity and Economic Growth on Independence Day


Karachi: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry called for national unity, economic strength, and increased trade to build a strong, self-reliant, and prosperous Pakistan.



According to Press Information Department, the minister addressed an Independence Day ceremony at Karachi Port Trust, emphasizing the importance of every citizen playing a role in the country’s development. He asserted that the nation’s resolve remains strong and that no external forces can harm Pakistan. Chaudhry highlighted the significance of unity and solidarity, urging the nation to remember the sacrifices made for independence and to instill these values in the younger generation.



Chaudhry further stated that achieving true sovereignty requires a robust economy and the promotion of trade. He stressed the need to expand regional trade and transshipment activities to bolster the country’s economic strength. The progress of Karachi Port and Port Qasim was noted as a testament to the dedication and hard work of their administrations, with the minister calling for the establishment of new benchmarks in the sector.



The ultimate goal, as stated by the minister, is to create a strong, self-reliant, and prosperous nation. KPT Chairman Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Ahmed also addressed the ceremony, honoring the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s freedom and urging the nation to uphold the values for which the country was founded.
