Lahore: National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) marked the nation’s 79th Independence Day with flag hoisting ceremonies at its installations and field offices across the country, emphasizing patriotic spirit and national unity. The main event took place at TSG Training Centre in New Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, with Chairman Board of Directors, Dr. Fiaz Ahmed Chaudhry, and Managing Director Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik leading the proceedings.
According to National Transmission and Despatch Company, Dr. Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry, in his address, highlighted the importance of prioritizing national interests over personal gains, emphasizing learning from past experiences while promoting peace and unity. He urged attendees to recommit to the founding principles of Pakistan. Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik echoed these sentiments, stressing the role of NGC in the country’s progress and emphasizing professional excellence and innovation in building a reliable National Grid. He also mentioned NGC’s expansion efforts through the CASA-1000 Project and connections with Iran.
The ceremony featured patriotic songs and tableau by children of NGC employees, showcasing national pride. The event concluded with the planting of commemorative saplings and the inauguration of a renovated hostel at the TSG Training Center. Attendees included senior leadership, sportspersons, and a diverse representation of NGC officers and staff members.
