Islamabad: An award ceremony was held at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication to honor students from Islamabad’s public schools who completed the Huawei Summer ICT Training Program. The event recognized the participants’ achievements in a collaborative effort between the government and Huawei Technologies Pakistan under the Prime Minister’s ICT training initiative.
According to Press Information Department, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, engaged with the students, acknowledging their accomplishments and encouraging them to further develop the skills gained from the program. The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to equipping young Pakistanis, particularly girls, with the necessary skills to contribute to the nation’s digital advancement and to compete globally.
Minister Shaza Fatima stressed the importance of technology across various sectors and encouraged the pursuit of emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and data science. She praised the students’ potential to not only use but also innovate with technology. Certificates were awarded to several students, including Ayesha Zaib and Hifsa Waqas, who completed numerous certifications.
The Minister expressed appreciation for Huawei Technologies Pakistan and the school administration for providing industry-relevant training. Ahmed Bilal Masood, CEO AI and Cloud at Huawei Pakistan, reiterated Huawei’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation.
The Minister concluded by urging students to view this training as the start of an ongoing educational journey, encouraging them to remain curious and to apply technology for solving real-world issues.
