ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to an open, inclusive, and constructive Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Chairmanship. The assurance, guided by the ‘Shanghai Spirit’ of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, and common development, was emphasized during a meeting with National Coordinators of SCO Member States.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar addressed senior representatives of the SCO Secretariat and the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He welcomed the National Coordinators to the inaugural meeting of the Council of National Coordinators under Pakistan’s Chairmanship and outlined the theme “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation, and Shared Prosperity.”
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of transforming the SCO’s collective vision into practical cooperation, aiming for tangible outcomes. He also discussed preparations for hosting the SCO Council of Heads of State Summit in Islamabad next year, urging member states to maintain close coordination to ensure a successful Chairmanship.
