ACAG Program Reaches Milestone with Over 215,000 Loan Approvals for Families

Lahore: A performance review meeting of the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar (ACAG) Programme was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Bilal Yasin. The meeting, which included officials from the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA), the Bank of Punjab, and the Urban Unit, focused on the targets for the current month and progress on loan disbursements.

According to the Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, over 215,000 families have received loan approvals under the Chief Minister Punjab’s ACAG Programme, with more than Rs. 273 billion disbursed to eligible recipients. Currently, 122,000 houses have been completed, and 57,500 are under construction, with plans for completion within the year.

Minister Bilal Yasin highlighted that the number of applicants registered on the ACAG Programme portal has surpassed 1.6 million, with a government target to provide loans to over 300,000 families this year. He emphasized the importance of informing applicants about loan approvals through SMS and telephone calls to ensure timely updates and greater facilitation.

The Minister expressed that the program has gained international recognition, attributed to the positive impact on families aspiring to own a home. He reiterated the government’s commitment to serving the public and ensuring the program’s benefits reach more deserving families. The construction of houses in every district of Punjab is anticipated to become a symbol of public service, with ongoing efforts to expand the program’s reach.
