ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has finalized an extensive traffic management plan to ensure seamless movement during Independence Day celebrations. The plan was discussed in a meeting chaired by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kainat Azhar Khan, focusing on the facilitation of citizens and the enhancement of traffic management throughout the capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting assessed a strategy to handle the anticipated increase in citizens traveling to recreational areas, major roads, and event venues. The strategy involves deploying additional traffic officials at key locations, intersections, and congested areas, along with implementing effective monitoring and providing timely guidance to the public.
CTO Islamabad instructed officers to utilize all resources to maintain smooth traffic flow during the celebrations. Ensuring citizen movement, managing congestion, and responding promptly to any unusual situations were highlighted as priorities.
Traffic officials were also directed to maintain courteous interactions with citizens, enforce compliance with traffic laws, and offer guidance on alternative routes and parking arrangements. CTO Kainat Azhar Khan emphasized that the ITP would remain fully mobilized to prevent unnecessary disruptions and ensure a safe travel environment for the public on Independence Day.
