ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a key meeting with senior police officials to assess the status of ongoing investigations and legal proceedings, as well as to address the backlog of pending cases.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, IGP Rizvi met with AIG Investigations Syed Inayat Ali Shah and AIG Legal Tahir Kazim to discuss the current investigation and legal matters. The officers provided briefings on ongoing cases, highlighting the need for improvements in the investigation process and adherence to legal standards.
IGP Rizvi instructed that all pending cases be resolved promptly, emphasizing the importance of merit-based conclusions grounded in evidence and legal frameworks. He stressed maintaining quality, transparency, and professionalism throughout the investigation process.
Further directives included fostering effective coordination between the investigation and legal branches to remove obstacles and ensure timely justice delivery. IGP Rizvi underscored the role of robust investigations and legal actions in combating crime and upholding justice.
The meeting concluded with IGP Rizvi urging officers to fulfill their duties diligently and resolve cases without undue delay. He also met with SSP Abdul Haq Umrani, commending his contributions to the Islamabad Police and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
