Deputy Prime Minister Dar Highlights Sovereignty and Peace on Independence Day


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and highlighted the nation’s dedication to peace and stability during a message delivered on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. In his address, he extended greetings to Pakistanis worldwide and paid tribute to the country’s founding leaders and those who have defended the nation’s independence.



According to Radio Pakistan, Dar underscored the importance of the recently signed Makkah Accord with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, describing it as a significant step towards enhanced strategic cooperation and collective security. He also recalled last year’s successful response to Indian aggression during the commemoration of Marka-e-Haq, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining its territorial integrity and adhering to international law.



The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the armed forces and security personnel for their role in ensuring national security. He also highlighted the need for peaceful resolutions to regional disputes, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir issue, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. Dar concluded his message by calling for strengthened national unity and institutional development to build a prosperous future for Pakistan.
