Risalpur, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized that lasting peace in the region hinges on the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, PM Kakar made this assertion during his address at the graduation ceremony of officers at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur. He stated, “Let me make it clear that there can be no peace without the settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.”
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s stance as a peace-loving nation that seeks to maintain amicable relations with all countries, particularly its neighbors. However, he made it clear that Pakistan’s quest for peace should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness.
Kakar condemned the ongoing human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to not engaging in an arms race but stressed the importance of continually enhancing the country’s defense capabilities in alignment with technological advancements to deter any form of aggression.
Addressing the rapidly evolving geo-strategic environment’s impact on Pakistan and the broader region, the Prime Minister underscored the need for advancements in space networks, cyber technology, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence. He lauded the PAF’s modernization efforts, highlighting its progress in cyber space and non-contact warfare through indigenous means.
Concluding his speech, Prime Minister Kakar congratulated the graduating cadets from the colleges of flying training and aeronautical engineering, expressing confidence in their professional capabilities and commitment to serving with diligence.
