World Bank and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sign MoU for Medical Staff Capacity Building

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the World Bank and the Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) to enhance the capacity of medical personnel in the region. The signing ceremony was attended by Advisor Health Dr. Riaz Anwar, Secretary Health Mahmood Aslam, and DG Health Dr. Shaukat Ali, among others.

According to the Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the MoU was signed by DGPHSA Dr. Sahib Gul and Project Director Dr. Ikramullah. This initiative, part of the World Bank’s Human Capital Investment Program, aims to provide training to medical staff in various districts to improve healthcare service delivery. The training will be conducted through PHSA and will target staff at 190 health centers in Peshawar, Nowshera, Haripur, and Swabi.

Advisor Health Dr. Riaz Anwar expressed appreciation for the World Bank’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of medical staff in the region. Project Director Dr. Ikramullah detailed that the project’s focus would be on improving service delivery in healthcare facilities. This partnership signifies a substantial step towards elevating healthcare standards and service quality in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
