Islamabad: Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has praised Pakistan for its mediation efforts in the ongoing US-Iran dialogue, noting the significance of diplomacy for global peace. This acknowledgment came during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday.
According to Radio Pakistan, Vieira expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive involvement in fostering dialogue between the United States and Iran. He emphasized the role of diplomatic engagements in achieving peace and security on an international scale. Vieira also extended congratulations to Dar on Pakistan’s recent signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
During their conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed gratitude for Vieira’s remarks and commended Brazil’s contributions to South-South cooperation and its dedication to global stability. Both officials highlighted the importance of continued high-level interactions and collaboration at the United Nations and other international platforms, reinforcing their shared commitment to multilateralism.
The two leaders discussed various regional and international matters, agreeing to maintain close engagement to enhance relations between Pakistan and Brazil. Dar extended an invitation to Vieira to visit Pakistan, and Vieira reciprocated with an invitation for Dar to visit Brazil. Both parties expressed optimism about further strengthening their bilateral ties in the future.
