This year’s theme, ‘Water for Peace,’ seeks to underscore the role of water in promoting peace and security across communities and nations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, World Water Day was first celebrated on March 22, 1993, following its establishment during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development. The day serves as a reminder of the vital importance of water to life on Earth and the need for international cooperation in addressing water scarcity and pollution.
