ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, highlighted the crucial role of thorough investigations in delivering justice during a significant meeting focused on pending cases and actions against criminal elements.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation, Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, along with all zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) of Islamabad Police. The meeting involved a comprehensive review of ongoing investigations across various police stations, with an emphasis on the timely completion of challans, apprehension of proclaimed offenders, and actions against habitual criminals.

During the meeting, the officers briefed DIG Tariq on the progress of cases, arrests made, and investigative measures undertaken. DIG Islamabad instructed that all ongoing cases should be resolved promptly in line with legal standards, and complete challans must be submitted to the competent courts without delay, ensuring timely justice for citizens.

DIG Tariq underscored that all cases must be handled with merit, transparency, and impartiality, warning that negligence and delays would not be tolerated. He also called for intensified actions against proclaimed offenders and other criminal elements, advising that all available resources should be utilized for their arrest. Intelligence-based operations were recommended to enhance crime control and public safety.

Furthermore, the DIG stressed the importance of investigation officers performing their duties with honesty and diligence, within the legal framework, as this is fundamental to justice. Officers were also directed to treat citizens courteously, address their issues promptly, and provide maximum relief to complainants.

The Islamabad Police is committed to utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order in the capital, eliminate crime, and ensure a safe environment for its citizens. Efforts against criminal elements are being reinforced and expanded to achieve these objectives.
