Pakistan and United Kingdom Pledge to Enhance Bilateral Relations

Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have pledged to strengthen their bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various sectors, including economic, development, and institutional areas. This commitment was articulated during a meeting between Pakistan’s Finance Minister and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting concentrated on enhancing bilateral cooperation, economic reforms, and regional developments, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to continued engagement on matters of mutual interest. The Finance Minister underscored the government’s dedication to maintaining policy continuity, fiscal discipline, and implementing structural reforms.

The discussions included an overview of measures by Pakistan aimed at broadening the tax base, improving revenue mobilization, and enhancing transparency through technology-driven reforms and digital initiatives. The British High Commissioner acknowledged Pakistan’s proactive engagement on regional issues and reiterated the United Kingdom’s support for Pakistan’s economic reform efforts and development objectives.
