Pakistan’s Prime Minister Highlights Mediation Efforts Between U.S. and Iran

BEIJING: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan has played a sincere role in mediating between the United States and Iran, as mentioned during delegation-level talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing. According to Radio Pakistan, Sharif noted that significant progress has been made, and developments are moving in the right direction amid the ongoing Gulf crisis.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards China’s leadership for its support in promoting peace and achieving a ceasefire. He affirmed Pakistan’s full endorsement of President Xi Jinping’s four-point agenda while praising the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

During the talks, Sharif emphasized the importance of collective action to restore global peace. He also highlighted the celebration of seventy-five years of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the commitment of current leaders to continue the legacy of bilateral cooperation.

Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed condolences to the Chinese people over the recent coal mine explosion in Shanxi, expressing solidarity with the victims and their families. Upon his arrival in Beijing, he was received by the Chinese Premier and honored with a guard of honor.
