Tribal Elders Seek to Mediate Between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Government


Islamabad: A delegation of tribal elders, led by former Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukatullah Khan, has taken steps to mediate ongoing tensions between the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the federal government. The elders met with Federal Minister Amir Muqam in Islamabad to discuss their role in easing the strained relations.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister welcomed the offer from the jirga, expressing the federal government’s support for initiatives benefiting the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Minister Muqam stated that the recommendations and proposals from the jirga would be communicated to the federal leadership for consideration.



The tribal elders conveyed their gratitude to the Minister and reiterated their willingness to act as mediators in the ongoing situation.
