Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed his congratulations to President Xi Jinping, the Chinese leadership, and the people of China on the occasion of China’s National Day. He conveyed his best wishes for China’s continued peace, prosperity, stability, and development.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Chairman Gilani highlighted the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China as a testament to an enduring and tested relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and shared goals. Over the past seven and a half decades, the friendship between the two nations has strengthened despite changing regional and global conditions.

Chairman Gilani noted the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China in 2026 as a significant milestone in their bilateral history. He emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in maintaining the momentum of this historic relationship, citing regular exchanges between the Parliaments of both countries as crucial for deepening mutual understanding and advancing shared interests.

The partnership, as outlined by Chairman Gilani, spans strategic, political, economic, defense, trade, technological, and people-to-people cooperation, with CPEC highlighted as a key element of this enduring relationship. He expressed optimism that the next phase of CPEC would unlock new opportunities for industrialization, investment, and socio-economic development.

Chairman Gilani praised China’s achievements in economic and social development, as well as its contributions to international cooperation and connectivity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China principle and conveyed best wishes for the continued progress and well-being of the Chinese leadership and people.
