Islamabad: In a significant move to enhance women’s economic empowerment and skills development, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), National University of Technology (NUTECH), and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) have entered into strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). This collaboration aims to improve vocational training programs for women across the country.
According to Press Information Department, the signing ceremony took place at the PBM’s Headquarters, with senior leadership from all three institutions in attendance. The MoUs were signed by Managing Director PBM Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, Rector of NUTECH Lieutenant General (Retd.) Moazzam Ejaz, and Executive Director of NAVTTC Muhammad Aamir Jan, alongside other notable participants.
The partnership involves NUTECH’s Board of Technical and Professional Education (NBTPE) and technical experts in modernizing 165 Women Empowerment Centers operated by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. The initiative aims to align training programs with market demands, introduce standardized curricula, and ensure nationally recognized certifications for graduates.
Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt emphasized the importance of empowering economically disadvantaged women through vocational training. He highlighted the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and digital transformation, aligning with the Prime Minister’s Uraan Pakistan initiative. The collaboration aims to expand access to education and create self-employment opportunities.
Lieutenant General (Retd.) Moazzam Ejaz commended PBM’s efforts to support vulnerable segments of society and reaffirmed NUTECH’s commitment to providing technical expertise to strengthen the Women Empowerment Centers. He stressed the integration of digital skills alongside conventional vocational training.
Executive Director NAVTTC, Muhammad Aamir Jan, noted the significance of institutional collaboration in maximizing impact and resource efficiency. He emphasized that this partnership aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of fostering coordination among organizations for common development objectives. The initiative will integrate graduates into the National Skills Portal for better workforce mapping and market opportunities.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to promoting women’s socio-economic inclusion and enhancing access to quality technical and vocational education across Pakistan.
