ANKARA: A ceremony commemorating Defence and Martyrs Day was held in Ankara, underscoring the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye. The event emphasized the historical and brotherly connections between the two nations.
According to Radio Pakistan, Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Güler, along with senior Turkish officials, attended the ceremony. In his address, Güler noted the significance of Pakistan as both a friend and an important partner to Türkiye. He paid homage to the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s martyrs and expressed Türkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan.
Güler highlighted the foundation of Pakistan-Türkiye relations, which are based on shared history, brotherly bonds, and mutual trust. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, also reiterated the strong ties between the countries. The participants of the event paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their sacrifices and services.
The ceremony included the playing of national anthems from both countries, along with national songs and patriotic performances, further symbolizing the deep-rooted connection between Pakistan and Türkiye.
