ISLAMABAD, The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has officially revoked the registration of the New Hampshire Insurance Company—Pakistan Branch. This action follows the approval of a Scheme of Arrangement by the Hon’ble High Court of Sindh, leading to the transfer of the company’s undertakings in Pakistan to TPL Insurance Limited.
According to Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the revocation of registration is in line with the High Court of Sindh’s order dated September 13, 2023. Under this arrangement, New Hampshire Insurance Company’s operations in Pakistan have been transferred entirely to TPL Insurance Limited. Consequently, New Hampshire Insurance Company, Pakistan Branch, is no longer authorized to conduct insurance business within the country. Any business activity previously undertaken by New Hampshire or liabilities incurred will now be the responsibility of TPL Insurance Limited. Policyholders with policies from New Hampshire Insurance Company – Pakistan Branch are advised to contact TPL Insurance Limited for any claims or concerns. The SECP has issued an official notification regarding this change, adhering to the terms of Section 10 of the Insurance Ordinance, 2000.
