Islamabad: In a message marking International Youth Day, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan emphasized the pivotal role of the nation’s youth in driving socio-economic progress and innovation.

According to Press Information Department, the President highlighted this year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” underscoring the shared goals of young people worldwide for quality education, decent employment, and meaningful societal participation. The President urged both the state and society to ensure that every young individual in Pakistan has the opportunity to realize their potential.

The President noted that with nearly 67 percent of Pakistan’s population under the age of 30, youth engagement in education, employment, and decision-making is crucial for harnessing their potential. The message stressed the importance of expanding opportunities for girls and young women, particularly in fields such as science, technology, and entrepreneurship, to unlock the nation’s full potential.

The President also addressed the challenges facing the youth, such as educational gaps and high unemployment rates, warning of potential long-term societal consequences if these issues remain unresolved. The government remains committed to youth empowerment through initiatives like the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, which focuses on education, skills development, and digital innovation.

The President concluded by encouraging the youth to embrace innovation and contribute actively to building a more inclusive and prosperous Pakistan, transforming aspirations into achievements for the nation’s future.
