ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating terrorism in a meeting held at Aiwan-e-Sadar in Islamabad. During the discussion, which coincided with the celebration of Independence Day, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the President and briefed him on a significant trilateral agreement reached between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan in Makkah.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari expressed his support for the implementation of the agreement, which focuses on enhancing defense cooperation and promoting regional stability. He acknowledged the contributions of Prime Minister Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in bolstering the strategic partnership among the three countries. The leaders also addressed internal and external issues, emphasizing the importance of ongoing operations against terrorist threats. They praised the efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism and reiterated their commitment to eliminating the threat completely.

The President highlighted the necessity of measures to alleviate economic challenges and ensure the availability of essential goods at fair prices. He expressed optimism that Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives would enhance its international standing and positively impact the national economy and citizens’ lives.
