ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari convened at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad to deliberate on the country’s political and security climate. The session, attended by key ministers and advisors, underscored the need for coordinated efforts among institutions to uphold national peace and stability.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, the Attorney General for Pakistan, and PPP Senators Sherry Rehman and Saleem Mandviwalla, alongside Sharjeel Memon and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
In assessing the national security landscape, the leaders reiterated the importance of cooperation among all relevant bodies. They also voiced concerns about the security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting resulted in a decision to send a joint delegation, featuring federal and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, to engage with the PTI leadership. This delegation will consist of Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah, and Amir Muqam from the federal government, along with Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, and Aijaz Jakhrani from the PPP, to discuss the prevailing political situation.
