DG ISPR Refutes Indian Claims of Killing Pakistani Officer

RAWALPINDI: The Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has publicly denied Indian assertions regarding the alleged killing of a Pakistani Special Services Group (SSG) officer. In a news conference held in Rawalpindi, General Chaudhry presented the retired SSG Havildar, who was purportedly killed, alive to the media.

According to Radio Pakistan, this press briefing came in response to Indian military claims circulated on social media, which alleged that a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, identified as Muhammad Asif alias Hashim Musa, was killed during an operation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir region. The Indian military further claimed that the deceased had been a part of Pakistan’s SSG. However, Muhammad Asif, appearing alongside General Chaudhry, confirmed his presence by stating that he has been residing in Attock since his retirement from the Pakistan Army in 2023, expressing surprise at the false reports of his demise.

General Chaudhry criticized India for what he described as a pattern of orchestrating false flag operations to deflect attention from its own activities. He accused New Delhi of being a significant sponsor of terrorism, targeting neighboring countries and minority communities within its borders. He emphasized that such actions only embolden India to engage in transnational operations.

The conference underscored the importance of evidence-based allegations, with General Chaudhry urging India to present any credible evidence through appropriate channels. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to counter any aggression and expressed a firm stance against attempts to tarnish the nation’s image through unfounded narratives.
