Islamabad: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has directed the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) and the Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC) to submit a comprehensive restructuring plan within two weeks to enhance governance, efficiency, and strategic positioning in the energy sector.
According to Press Information Department, the directive came during the Minister’s visit to HDIP’s headquarters and laboratory facilities. During the visit, Ali Pervaiz Malik evaluated the institute’s operations and technical capabilities, emphasizing the need for modernization and improvement in governance and operational effectiveness. The Minister called for filling key governance and leadership positions promptly to drive reforms and ensure accountability.
The Minister also urged HDIP to engage in international collaboration to elevate quality standards and adopt global best practices. He highlighted the importance of reliable data for informed policymaking and attracting investment, reiterating the government’s commitment to reforming energy sector institutions for long-term energy security.
