Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured that justice will be served in the case of Laiba Aijaz, a student whose death has sparked widespread concern, pledging that those responsible will face legal consequences.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a visit to the residence of Laiba Aijaz in Islamabad, Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, met with the family of the deceased student. Naqvi expressed his sorrow over the incident and emphasized the commitment to ensure justice for Laiba’s family, stating that the accused will not evade severe punishment under the law.
An FIR has been lodged, and a police investigation is underway to examine all aspects of the incident. Naqvi assured the family that the investigation would uncover the facts, underlining the government’s responsibility to deliver justice. He and Chaudhry conveyed their condolences and offered prayers for the departed.
High-ranking officials, including the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and other police officials, were present during the visit, underscoring the significance of the case and the government’s dedication to addressing it thoroughly.
