Pakistan Customs Enforcement Hyderabad Intensifies Anti-Smuggling Operations, Seizes Goods Worth Over Rs. 77 Million

Islamabad: Pakistan Customs, Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Hyderabad, has intensified its anti-smuggling operations, conducting a series of intelligence-based enforcement activities from June 15 to June 21, 2026. These operations led to the seizure of Non-Custom Paid (NCP) vehicles, smuggled goods, and petroleum products with a market value exceeding Rs. 77 million.

According to Press Information Department, enforcement teams intercepted 21 Non-Custom Paid vehicles valued at approximately Rs. 61 million. These vehicles, both passenger and commercial, were seized as their possessors could not present valid customs documentation proving lawful importation into Pakistan. This reflects the Collectorate’s focus on curbing the illegal use of smuggled vehicles.

The operations also resulted in the interception of six consignments of smuggled goods valued at around Rs. 10.098 million. The seized items, including electronic goods, Indian-origin banned tobacco products, industrial goods, and textiles, were transported in violation of the Customs Act, 1969, and other applicable laws.

In a notable success, enforcement teams seized two consignments of smuggled petroleum products, including 15,000 liters of High-Speed Diesel and petrol, valued at approximately Rs. 5.867 million. This interception highlights Pakistan Customs’ focus on dismantling fuel smuggling networks that impact the national revenue.

Legal proceedings under the Customs Act, 1969, and other relevant laws have been initiated against those involved. Investigations are ongoing to dismantle the smuggling networks facilitating these activities. Pakistan Customs remains committed to intelligence-led enforcement operations to curb smuggling and facilitate legitimate trade, aligning with the Government of Pakistan’s economic objectives.
