IGP Islamabad Unveils New Initiatives for Minority Rights and Police Modernization


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry convened a meeting with Christian community representatives to deliberate on enhancing minority rights, public facilities, and service delivery improvements. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP announced the establishment of a “Misaq Centre” dedicated to addressing minority community concerns and improving service provision. The community representatives raised issues, receiving assurances of cooperation from the IGP.



In a separate engagement, discussions were held with Safe City and the National Logistics Cell (NLC) officials to advance the modernization of police operations through effective technology use and inter-institutional coordination. Joint initiatives were also planned to enhance the efficiency and safety of public services.



Additionally, IGP Chaudhry addressed police officers and personnel at the Central Police Office, directly engaging with their service-related and personal concerns. Immediate directives were issued to ensure the prompt resolution of these issues. The IGP reiterated the commitment to public service, transparency, and modern policing, emphasizing the importance of protecting minority rights and addressing police personnel’s concerns.
