Pakistan’s Finance Minister Aurangzeb to Lead Delegation at World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings in Thailand


Islamabad: Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, is set to lead the country’s delegation to the World Bank Group-IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand. The meetings, scheduled from the 12th to the 18th of this month, will see participation from global financial institutions and policymakers.



According to Radio Pakistan, the visit will involve over 60 high-level engagements with international financial bodies, finance ministers, and development partners. The finance minister aims to advance Pakistan’s transition from macroeconomic stabilization to investment and export-led growth, focusing on structural reforms and international capital market engagement.



Senator Aurangzeb’s agenda includes discussions with the IMF and World Bank leadership on Pakistan’s macroeconomic outlook and private sector development. Bilateral meetings with counterparts from countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, and Turkey are also planned, along with engagements with major multilateral institutions.



A key aspect of the visit will be interactions with international investors, capital markets, and leading financial institutions to present Pakistan’s economic progress and investment opportunities. Meetings with global sovereign credit rating agencies and international media are also on the schedule, with the aim of reinforcing Pakistan’s economic narrative and reform trajectory.



The visit highlights Pakistan’s commitment to fostering international economic relations and converting macroeconomic stability into sustainable growth and development.
