Karachi: Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, during his visit to the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) in Karachi, announced that the country’s economy is on a positive trajectory, with sustainable growth expected to be driven by the private sector. He highlighted the government’s commitment to providing a supportive business environment and investment ecosystem.
According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister outlined six key economic priorities, including achieving macroeconomic stability, transitioning from stabilization to growth driven by productivity and investment, and shifting from aid to trade and investment. He emphasized the importance of structural reforms and expanding access to finance for SMEs and underserved segments.
Senator Aurangzeb noted significant progress in the economy, citing the recovery from a prior contraction and the importance of consolidating these gains. He stressed the need for growth to be driven by productivity, exports, and employment rather than consumption-led expansion.
