Ankara: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara marked the 79th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan with a flag hoisting ceremony attended by embassy officials, the diplomatic community, and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Türkiye. The event, held at 10:00 AM, was characterized by nationalistic fervor and a sense of unity.

According to the Press Information Department, the ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the playing of Pakistan’s national anthem as the flag was hoisted. Mr. Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto, Deputy Head of Mission, conveyed the President of Pakistan’s message, emphasizing the historic struggle for freedom and national unity. Counsellor Mr. Ammar Amin shared the Prime Minister’s message, focusing on resilience and socioeconomic development.

H.E. Dr. Yousaf Junaid, Ambassador of Pakistan to Türkiye, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of August 14 for Pakistanis. He paid homage to the country’s founding fathers and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to freedom and justice. Ambassador Junaid noted the strong ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, expressing optimism for the continuation of their strategic partnership.

The event concluded with attendees exchanging greetings, reflecting national pride and solidarity.
